- From the computer of Kenny Hydock:
-
- Someone gave me a broken A1000. I was wondering if I might get some help on
- resurrecting it.
-
- It has a dataflyer 1000 hard drive w/2mb of memory. I am assuming it is good
- since it has the same problem with the dataflyer disconncted.
-
- Anyway - The person I got it from said that it died on her when she turned her
- modem off then back on. It will not boot. The best I have gotten from it is
- the requestor for the kickstart disk. Once the kickstart disk is inserted it
- begins reading and then locks up with a white screen. Trying a reset only
- causes the power light to flash and no reading the disk.
-
- Does anyone have an idea of what chip(s) might be affected. The A1000 did not
- have its chips names (like paula, agnus, etc.) Since it seems to be having
- problems booting could it be the A1000 equivalent of the CIA chips?
-
- If anyone has any ideas (or a good A1000 CPU just sitting around needing a new
- home) please give me a yell.
-
- Thanks - Kenny
